  • PSS – Process Shutdown System or Process Safety System.
  • SSS – Safety Shutdown System
  • ESD – Emergency Shutdown
  • EDP – Emergency Depressurization Systems

ESD: Here are the three levels:

  • Level 1: Level 1 can be activated from the main control room of the process industrial plant.
  • Level 2: Level 2 can be activated by the person in charge of the plant shutdown and isolates the individual ESD zones. Additionally this also activates.
  • Level 3: This level provides liquid inventory containment.
